We have designed the menu as an opportunity for the discerning diner to create-your-own tasting menu. Our offerings are broken down into Antojitos (individual portions of small dishes such as tacos and tostadas) and shareable composed dishes (served with house-made corn tortillas, for dipping, pinching or forming tacos). The menu is best as a multi-course combination of individual dishes and shareable dishes that give insights into the convivial and family-oriented nature of the culture and cuisine.
Experienced to the fullest, the menu provides a sampling of dishes both traditional and original -- designed to expose the open-minded diner to the diversity of food derived from one of the world's few "cradles of civilization" -- where cultural achievements (culinary or otherwise) were shaped independent of outside influence -- Mesoamerica.
The contemporary gastronomy of Yucatan can count the indigenous Mayan cuisine of the peninsula as the greatest influence on the cuisine -- one which serves as the underpinning of all that makes the local cuisine so unique; However, the influence of Spanish, French, Lebanese, Dutch and broader Mexican cuisine is perceptible.
